The GRIMM Aerosol Technik MCERTS Environmental Dust Monitor (Model EDM 280) is an optical aerosol spectrometer with a unique detection limit and excellent counting efficiency. Suitable for real-time PM monitoring under any environmental conditions.
Features
- Suitable for Particulate Matter monitoring under any environmental conditions and at all sites (traffic, urban, background, maritime, mountain and others)
- Approved emission measuring device for particulate matter PM₁₀ and PM2.5 in air monitoring networks
- Source apportionment with high time resolution for air pollution control strategies
- Insensitive to vibrations, therefore also suitable for installation in measuring vehicles
- Robust design, energy efficient and lowest running costs
- Low maintenance due to internal particle-free purge-air circuit to protect the optical components
- Fits in all existing EDM (180, 180+) installations
- Stand-alone option with fully air-conditioned weather protection housing (construction site monitoring, port facilities, etc.)
How it works
The EDM 280 is based on the measuring principle of scattered light detection of single particles by a laser diode. The detection volume is aerodynamically focused (ISO21501-1), there is no edge zone error. The unique detection limit of 0.1 µg/m³ and excellent counting efficiency of the EDM 280 are worth mentioning.
Also special is its mass concentration range, which is 0 to 12,000 μg/m³ for PM₁₀. Real-time monitoring of particulate matter levels TSP, PM₄, PM₂.₅, PM₁ as well as PMCoarse is also possible.
In addition, the total particle count (TC) and particle number distribution can be determined.
