Duncan has had overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and strategic direction of Cura Terrae Air.
Duncan first joined the business in 1990 as an instrumentation service engineer and worked in the field for 5-years before moving into a sales and marketing role in the mid-1990s. After various board level positions including operations and sales and marketing, Duncan progressed to Managing Director in 2015 where he now oversees the growth and development.
Duncan identifies new business opportunities and excels in bringing new and innovative products and technology to market. Leading from the front and with a fully hands-on approach, Duncan plays an active part (directly and indirectly) in the sale of cutting-edge instrumentation into the scientific and research sectors.
With many years’ practical experience and knowledge of environmental science, Duncan is often approached by regulators, consultants and researchers for his monitoring and applications advice.
He has both recommended specific monitoring technology for, and has helped design experiments which have led to ground-breaking research and high-profile publications.
In October 2020 Duncan became a STEM Ambassador. This enables him to frequently share his extensive knowledge of high-tech monitoring instrumentation, air pollution and climate change to the younger generation through school outreach visits, something which he finds very rewarding.
