Duncan started at Cura Terrae Air in 1990 as a trainee service engineer. Over his career with the company, he has worked across all areas of the business, including sales, marketing, and operations, and from 2015–2025 he served as Managing Director. Duncan now works on a part-time basis for the business as our Products and Applications Consultant, working closely with our suppliers and the sales and marketing teams. He consults on product management, develops applications strategy, and highlights cost-effective and innovative monitoring solutions tailored to customer requirements.
With many years’ practical experience and knowledge of environmental science, Duncan is often approached by regulators, consultants and researchers for his monitoring and applications advice.
He has both recommended specific monitoring technology for, and has helped design experiments which have led to ground-breaking research and high-profile publications.
In October 2020 Duncan became a STEM Ambassador. This enables him to frequently share his extensive knowledge of high-tech monitoring instrumentation, air pollution and climate change to the younger generation through school outreach visits, something which he finds very rewarding.
