The AirPhoton IN102 Size Scanning Integrating Nephelometer uses forward and backward light scattering and multiwavelength technology to determine the properties of aerosols. The cyclone inlet and feedback flow control system mean that the IN102 can collect and analyse particles in specified size ranges (PM2.5 and PM10). This makes the instrument highly suitable for climate, air quality, and public health applications.
The IN102’s small, compact design and protective case allow it to withstand a wide range of temperatures and humidity conditions in the field. It can measure different particle sizes in normal ambient conditions, as well as at high altitude or remote locations due to the high-speed fan which permits higher pressure intake.
AirPhoton integrating nephelometers are utilised by the international SPARTAN and NASA MAIA particulate air pollution initiatives, and are whitelisted for use in the European Aerosol, Clouds, and Trace Gases Research Infrastructure (ACTRIS). In SPARTAN stations, they are combined modularly with AirPhoton AeroExplorer Samplers which enables programmable sample collection in addition to real-time particle analysis provided by the nephelometer.
