The AirPhoton Mini-IMAP Single-wavelength Polar Nephelometer measures scattered light from a single visible wavelength laser at 9 discrete angles (10° – 160°). This provides detailed information on aerosol properties, including particle concentration, size, and morphology. The cyclone inlet and feedback flow control system allow for the collection of data across multiple size bins (PM1 – PM10).

The Mini-IMAP also incorporates aerodynamic sizing, providing information on how particles behave in an air stream and how they might deposit in the respiratory tract. In combination with optical sizing, this property can connect satellite and ground-based measurements for air quality research.

The Mini-IMAP also employs updated software that simplifies and streamlines operation, allowing seamless integration with GRASP Earth’s algorithm to enhance data retrievals, ensure compatibility across measurement platforms, and gain insights.
